Greg Crowe
Brass specialist Greg Crowe is a music educator at Glenlawn Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg where he teaches Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Musical Theatre and Technical Music Production. He holds bachelor degrees in Music and Education from the University of Manitoba. In addition to writing for jazz band, Greg has also composed several works for Choir and Vocal Jazz groups which have been performed/premiered by different ensembles in Winnipeg. From 2007-09, Greg partnered with Toronto musician Mitch 'King Kong' Girio and Winnipeg actor/playwright Cory Wojcik to write LondonTown - a dynamic ska musical that spoke to the realities of life in Northern Manitoba. The work premiered in 2009 at the Carol Shields Festival of New Works. Greg has also served as director of the Winnipeg New Horizons Band from 2008-2013 and is an active performer with his band, The Scarlet Union. Greg lives in southern Winnipeg with his wonderful wife Erin and his two beautiful children Benjamin and Olivia.
